| Job Number: #0165 Job Category: Operations Job Title: Operations Controller Reports: COO Job Location: Salinas, Ca Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing accounting/financial management and input as well as analytical support for the Processing Operations for Company under the general supervision of the COO using independent judgment and discretion in accordance with company policies, procedures, accounting/finance standards and in compliance with current laws and regulations established by Federal, State and local regulatory bodies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are performed personally, in cooperation with the COO, and/or in coordination with staff members or other co-workers. Additional duties may be assigned. Will plan, forecast, analyze and make recommendations to the COO and senior operations personnel regarding solutions to business challenges with respect to: processing, warehousing, and logistics operations. Employee will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of operational performance metrics. The employee will also be actively involved in managing for improved operational efficiencies, analyzing and establishing standard costs, forecasting/planning plant expansion needs, oversee financial reporting of operations departments, and oversee daily production scheduling. Specific Responsibiities include: Design, maintain, and manage daily operations metrics for the processing and logistics operations. Be actively involved with senior and subordinate operations personnel in improving performance. Oversee production scheduling function Manage monthly financial reporting. Manage the capital expenditure process. Oversee and manage the standard cost system. Oversee forecasting and annual budgeting process for operations departments. Collateral Duties Assigned: Assist with management of operational improvement projects with COO. Limits to Authority: All capital procurement is subject to advance approval of the COO. Requirements: Requires a 4 year degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or Operations management with an MBA preferred. * Experience in analyzing business problems with a Fortune 500 company or a successful track record as a consultant to manufacturing/processing companies. * Strong interpersonal skills * Demonstrated ability to reach successful problem resolution through others. * Outstanding presentation, communication and analytical skills. * Computer literacy at the "PC" level including proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Fluent and reasonably proper in verbal and written English, Spanish a plus. * Able to communicate with superiors and subordinates in a manner which conveys a message, thought or direction clearly and understandably.
